New Year's Resolutions Are Just Goals

I was talking to someone a couple of days ago, and I asked if he had any New Year's resolutions. He said he gave up resolutions a few years ago, that it seemed silly to him to make these resolutions that nobody sticks to. I then asked if he had goals for the year, and while he thought it was a good idea, he didn't have any.

I'm a big believer in having goals: fitness, financial, relationship, and everything in between. Goals give us something to strive for and work toward. If you're not improving, you're typically getting worse. It's OK not to reach a target because trying will get you a lot closer than if you had none in the first place. One of the most important places to have solid goals is at work. We believe in company-wide goals that trickle down to every employee.
